Please Contact Your U.S. Representative Today and Ask Them to Oppose H.R. 1236, H.R 1186 and H.R. 2708!

The U.S. House Judiciary Committee just passed H.R. 1236, H.R 1186 and H.R. 2708, and they could soon be sent to the U.S. House floor for a vote! These are Pelosi-Bloomberg gun control bills designed to score political points, and they won’t have any impact on crime or criminals, don’t address America’s broken mental health system and don’t address the underlying causes of violence.

H.R. 1236 would strip Second Amendment rights of individuals by confiscating firearms without strong due process. A person could be forcibly disarmed of otherwise lawfully-possessed firearms before he or she had so much as an opportunity to contest the accusations. Due process of law is a bedrock of our constitutional freedoms. Without it, we would cease to exist as a free country.

H.R. 1186 would ban standard capacity magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. Many of the most popular firearms in America are designed to use magazines with a capacity greater than 10 rounds. In a life-threatening situation where police are far away, this legislation would only limit law-abiding gun owners’ rights to defend self, family and home.

H.R. 2708 uses the legitimate and serious issue of hate crimes as a smokescreen for its real goal – banning firearms ownership. The bill seeks to include minor convictions as the basis for a lifetime loss of Second Amendment rights, but the legal and criminal justice systems already have the necessary tools to prohibit dangerous individuals from possessing firearms.

Again, please contact your Representative today at (202) 224-3121 and urge them to oppose H.R. 1236, H.R 1186 and H.R. 2708!

Thank you.
