The 117th Congress is now in session. Now is the time for our community to ask Members of Congress to join the bipartisan Congressional Mitochondrial Caucus. Our caucus co-chairs are Rep. Jim McGovern (D-MA) and Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA). Our caucus has 28 additional members. This important caucus serves as a forum for members of Congress and staff to learn about mitochondrial disease and related illnesses.
To date, several very important briefings that have detailed mitochondrial disease and its impact on children, adults and the links to more common illnesses such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, some cancers, and autism spectrum disorders.
