Support Rep. Correa's Vaccine Request for Counties

Anaheim and Orange County have been deeply impacted by the pandemic. We have seen a rapid spread of COVID-19 among our residents and workers. California, and particularly the major counties of Southern California, have been seen some of the nation's highest numbers of cases and deaths from the coronavirus.

Once the Federal Drug Administration authorized the vaccines and the County of Orange received its supply, our local health officials quickly and effectively implemented the plan and launched one of the nation's first vaccination supersites at Disneyland, in addition to opening a second super site at Soka University. The City of Anaheim is also working with County health officials and private providers to open smaller vaccination sites across the city. If provided enough vaccines, our County and City have the staffing and infrastructure in place to meet local, state, and federal vaccination goals over the coming months.

We are reaching out today to urge your support for our local Congressman Lou Correa's request to President Biden that the federal distribution plan provide vaccines directly to counties, with necessary funding, along with a federal requirement to ensure equity and efficiency from states as they provide resources to counties.

The vaccine is a critical component of ensuring the health and safety of our residents, workers, and visitors. The success of the vaccine to secure public health will help expedite the reopening of the economy, which will help reduce social inequities and bring back the tens of thousands of jobs that were lost to the COVID-19 closures. Please join us in supporting Congressman Correa's efforts to ensure direct distribution of vaccines, funding and resources to counties.

Thank you for taking the time to support Congressman Correa's county-focused vaccination program.
