I want Congress to Pass Social Security WEP Reform
Across the country, nearly 2 million public retirees have had their Social Security benefit unfairly reduced by the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP). Millions more current public employees will one day be negatively impacted, including most professional firefighters, police officers and teachers. The WEP law is unfair and must change!
This is why more than 50 state and national public retiree associations, unions, and retirement advocacy organizations are supporting the passage of H.R. 2337, the Public Servants Protection and Fairness Act of 2021. The bill would bring needed relief to current retirees and fixes the WEP for future retirees to ensure Social Security is calculated fairly.
