Prohibit State Sanctioned Vaccine Passports, SUPPORT HB498!

Send a message to your Louisiana State Sentator: Support Representative Kathy Edmonston’s HB498, which prohibits State sanctioned Vaccine Passports based on Covid19 vaccination status.

The State of Louisiana should not allow the discrimation and segregation that is already implemented or being planned across the state. In no other scenario would medical discrimation be acceptable.

Discriminatory actions like removal of equitable educational opportunities for unvaccinated individuals - for example, in class vs virtual learning, limited access to public buildings, denial of in-person services are coercive actions that remove “voluntary and free” from any medical procedure.

The freedom we enjoy comes at great cost, paid for by courageous men and women - do not allow it to be diminished by fear.

“Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor    safety.” ~Benjamin Franklin

Article I, Section 1 of the Louisiana State Constitution says the origin and purpose of government  is “to protect the rights of the individual and for the good of the whole.”

Article I, Section 3 recognizes the right to individual dignity and lists the various forms of prohibited discrimintion, including  “No law shall arbitrarily, capriciously, or unreasonably discriminate against a person because of (amongst other things) physical condition...”

Article I, Section 12  also assures us that “In access to public areas, accommodations, and facilities, every person shall be free...from arbitrary, capricious, or unreasonable discrimination based on age, sex, or physical condition.”

HB498 embodies the ethics outlined in the Louisiana State Consititution as it embraces the rights of the individual, the right to individual dignity, and freedom from discrimination.
