Take Action to Override Gov. Edwards' Veto of LA Constitutional Carry!

We are witnessing history in the making.  The first-ever veto-override session in Louisiana since the adoption of the new state constitution in 1974 has just been confirmed, and Constitutional Carry is on the agenda. Governor Edwards, a supposed "pro-gun" Democrat, vetoed Constitutional Carry and most likely thought that would be the end of it. Thankfully, that's not the case.

In order to have Constitutional Carry become law, each chamber of the Louisiana state legislature will need to garner a two-thirds majority to override the veto. In the Louisiana House, we will need bi-partisan support to get the job done. That's why we are encouraging you to use our Take Action tool to write your state legislators and demand that they override the governor's senseless veto of SB 118.

The governor is currently trying to use tactics to prevent legislators from embarrassing him by overriding his vetoes.  He will continue to do so in an effort to preserve his reputation. No one wants to be the first governor in Louisiana to suffer defeat in a veto-override session.  However, his reputation is not what matters here.  What matters is that the good people of Louisiana can exercise their fundamental rights without government permitting or fees.  Take action today as this matter is time-sensitive with the veto-override session beginning on July 20th!
