$107 Billion "Community Violence Intervention" (AKA Gun Control) Tucked Away in Budget

It should come as no surprise that the bureaucrats in Washington, D.C. would attempt to use the budget process in an effort to push their gun control agenda. Tucked away in the $3.5 trillion budget (S. Con. Res. 14) being championed by Senate Budget Committee Chairman Bernie Sanders (I-VT), is the allocation of $107 billion (yes, billion with a b) for "community violence intervention (CVI)".

Now some of you may say, "Well that doesn't sound so bad."  Of course it doesn't. That's intentional.  However, what is "community violence intervention"?  If we took a poll of Congress, I would wager the majority of elected officials wouldn't be able to define it. That's a problem.  The reality is that the potential misuse of this $107 billion by anti-gun localities to target gun ownership rather than crime is high.
