The Arizona Secretary of State is seeking to implement a proposed election manual that would undermine election integrity. It is imperative that we stop it before it's too late!
Secretary Hobbs released the “2021 Elections Procedures Manual” (summary) and is accepting public comment on it. Although the Election Manual is supposed to be based on Arizona’s legislatively-enacted election statutes, it can include measures that contradict or add onto the law. Furthermore, the state judiciary has given strong weight to the Election Manual when deciding election-related cases. Thus, the Secretary of State’s Election Manual is an important document in relation to election integrity.
According to a review conducted by EZAZ.org, there are 170 problems with the manual that could negatively impact election integrity and transparency.
If these problems are not fixed, the integrity of Arizona’s upcoming elections could again be in jeopardy despite the State Legislature’s partial fixes.
Thus, it is imperative that Arizona citizens contact the Secretary of State in opposition to the Election Manual. Furthermore, Arizonans must urge the Secretary of State to adopt election reforms that actually increase the integrity and transparency of elections.
