Let South Carolina voters decide for ourselves on Sunday liquor store sales!
Banning liquor stores from deciding if they want to open on Sundays is based on outdated and antiquated laws from the prohibition era – laws that don’t reflect the lives of 21st century citizens. I am urging you to let voters decide for ourselves what is best for our counties.
State law already allows voters in individual counties to vote on Sunday sales of beer and wine, and both businesses and consumers value the option. It’s only fair to extend a similar option for businesses and consumers to make our own decisions about the sale of liquor.
Not only is this reasonable, but it’s overwhelmingly supported by citizens and businesses across the state. 77% of South Carolinians say voters should be able to decide if liquor stores can open on Sundays in their county.
Businesses and consumers across South Carolina deserve freedom and fairness to make these decisions for ourselves. Please support House Bill 3013 and let me and my fellow South Carolinians decide for ourselves what is best for our communities.
