Oppose the Exceedingly Costly Healthcare Proposal
The Assembly Health Committee will discuss a single payer universal healthcare system, known as the California Guaranteed Health Care for All ACT (Cal-Care). This costly healthcare plan will negatively impact workforce and job growth in California, push California physicians to practice in another state, and further displace workers and eliminate jobs.
We must express our opposition of AB 1400 as it will open the door for tax increases for employees and employers in order to fund the healthcare plan. It is analyzed that the the cost of a single-payer system in California is more than $210 billion for the first year of the program in order to sustain such infrastructure.
