Did you know that there is a project that would bring thousands of jobs to East Montgomery County?
Viva White Oak will be a critical economic & quality of life transformation for East Montgomery County families. But County Executive Marc Elrich is not supportive.
Meanwhile, the entire County Council has voted in favor of this project with Councilmembers Tom Hucker, Gabe Albornoz, Nancy Navarro, Hans Riemer, and Sidney Katz saying the following.
“Viva White Oak is not only a significant step toward reaching our job creation and our housing production goals. It also promises to create high-wage jobs in East County, exactly where Montgomery County needs them most...We were deeply disappointed to read… Elrich’s continued opposition to one of Montgomery County's top economic development priorities.”
Tell County Executive Marc Elrich that it’s time that he publicly supports good paying jobs and quality of life improvements for East County residents.

- This project will bring 10,000 full time direct jobs and 5,000 construction jobs.
- Seven Million square feet of commercial development including restaurants and small businesses.
- 1 million-square-foot first phase of the project, anchored by 400,000 square feet of biotech-centric lab and office space.
- Elrich consistently opposed the project in his days on the County Council.
