Pro-Liberty Legislation Expanding Carry Rights to All Peaceable Adults in Tennessee is Gaining Momentum

Tennessee House Bill 1735, which would lower the age for permitless carry to 18, is currently on the move in the state legislature. HB 1735 would also lower the age to obtain an enhanced handgun carry permit to 18. On March 16th HB 1735 was voted favorably in the House Civil Justice Committee and moves on to the Finance Committee.  At FPC we believe that all peaceable adults (18 and up) should have the ability to exercise their fundamental rights, and HB 1735 is a big step in that direction.

If you believe that 18-20-year-olds should not be stuck in a weird limbo when it comes to their rights in Tennessee, please reach out to your state representative and ask them to SUPPORT HB 1735 when it comes up for consideration in either the House Civil Justice Committee or in the full House.  To reach out to your specific state representative in support of HB 1735 use FPC's constituent outreach tool on this page. FPC has drafted up a sample email for you to review, edit, and personalize prior to sending it off to your lawmaker's inbox.  As always, you are also encouraged to share this page with fellow liberty advocates in the Volunteer State.  Thank you in advance for taking action on this bill that would enable fellow Tennesseans to exercise their right to keep and bear arms.
