Brewers Need Your Help!

This session, the Massachusetts Brewers Guild is advocating for H.940, An Act expanding the sale of products by farmer breweries and pub brewers.

This bill will enable farmer and pub brewers to sell their products at agricultural events such as farmers markets. Wine, cider and distilled spirits are currently allowed to be sold at agricultural events. This legislation is about providing equal treatment to local brewers.

Farmers markets are cherished community events that bring together local growers, artisans, and crafters. This bill would allow a small, family-run business to add their locally sourced product to the line-up of vendors, help local businesses increase employment opportunities and provide additional access to market, which is needed now more than ever as these businesses continue to recover from the pandemic.

The craft brewing industry is incredibly important to Massachusetts and passing this bill will help ensure that craft brewers have equal opportunity for success.

On behalf of the more than two hundred local craft brewers in Massachusetts, we are asking you show your support to keep our industry thriving.

Cheers!
