THIS WEEK: The LAND USE Chapter of the draft Scoping Plan.
They are trying to tell you what to do with your private property and how to manage it - all in the name of climate change, ignoring the reality of how we are the natural solution to Climate Change. This plan relies heavily on preservation, not conservation. No mention or recognition of the value of our private property to supply the PUBLIC with forest products, open space, ercreation, clean water, clean air and carbon sequestion. WE NEED TO TELL THEM!
ESFPA has written a letter which outlines all the benefits of forestry and what we provide on our private lands. Additionally, the letter outlines the differnce between preservation and conservation. Every letter that is sent in reinforces this message.
WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO EDIT THIS LETTER TO FIT YOUR SPECIFIC BUSINESS!
Tell our leaders and decision makers that the New York forestry community practices sustainable forestry, taking care of the land so that it provide all the benefits society relies upon for generations to come. Describe the very real the land use pressures on your ownership if regulations are tightened even more.
