Cut the Pentagon Budget!
The House of Representatives is debating the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) this week, legislation that would approve a $840 BILLION Pentagon budget for 2023. That’s $840 billion dollars going to militarization, warfare, weapons manufacturers, and climate destruction that could be going to our communities instead.
The good news: we can still CUT the Pentagon budget! Representatives Barbara Lee and Mark Pocan have introduced two amendments to the NDAA to reduce the Pentagon budget – one would cut $37.5 billion dollars which were added to President Biden’s proposal in the House Armed Services Committee, and the other would cut the topline budget by $100 billion. Tell your representative to support these crucial amendments to cut the Pentagon budget!
