Override the SOS Veto!

Urgent: Some elected officials are listening to thousands of their constituents, and some are not!  We need your help NOW!

By a vote of 6 to 3, most Albuquerque City Councilors passed a moratorium against expanding homeless camps one year. There have been five applications submitted for Safe Outdoor Spaces (SOS).

Mayor Tim Keller doesn't care about the public outcry against further homeless camps; he VETOED the one-year moratorium!

But here's good news: The council can override the mayor’s veto with six votes (the same six who voted to approve the moratorium.)

If you live in Albuquerque, you can quickly send an email to the six councilors who voted for the moratorium, encouraging them to override the veto and stand firm with thousands of constituents against spreading homeless camps throughout Albuquerque.

Please use the form to the right and send an email to City Councilors urging them to override the mayor's veto and STOP the process of expanding homeless camps.

Homelessness and addiction are difficult issues but there are better solutions than more 'KellerVille' camps. So is the increased crime that is associated with current homeless camps. Tell Councilors to send a strong message to the mayor and stop expansion of any sanctioned city camping until there is a realistic plan to help those in need while protecting all Albuquerque residents.
