Petition: Tell NM Legislators to say NO to the Paid Family Medical Leave Act (PFMLA).
The Paid Family Medical Leave Act will be considered in one of the bills coming up in the 2023 Legislative Session. This act forces employees and employers to pay out of pocket into a fund managed by Workforce Solutions, and it isn't good for New Mexicans!
The PFMLA could harm our already fragile businesses and the workers they employ. This will impact every NM employee and all businesses with over five employees.
Many New Mexicans are already dealing with the financial strain of inflation, and for many families, an additional .5% of ALL employee wages would go into this state-managed fund. Employers would pay another .4% of all wages paid.
