2023 Virginia General Assembly Session: Take Action

The Virginia Library Association invites advocates to reach out to the members of the General Assembly Senate Committee on Education and Health regarding HB1379 and HB1448, which will go to the Senate during crossover in February 2023.

On January 17, 2023, representatives from the Virginia Association of School Librarians, the Virginia Library Association and the Virginia Education Association spoke against these bills in their first hearing, along with a representative of the the Pride Liberation Project.

After your name and address are entered below, you will have the opportunity to customize the email message that will be sent to Senators Louise Lucas, Janet Howell, Mamie Locke, and Ghazala Hashmi (who each sit on the Public Education Subcommittee) along with your Senator, if they also serve on the Senate Education and Health Committee; your zip code helps to determine who receives the messages you send.
