Contact your legislator to reduce hospital prices!
We humbly request your support for House Bill 1004, Health Care Matters, authored by Rep. Schaibley.
This bipartisan bill is the most comprehensive package of proposals in this legislative session that will reduce non-profit hospital prices. Currently, Indiana has the 7th highest hospital prices in the nation.
House Bill 1004 provides that nonprofit hospitals and insurers must collaboratively work together to bring hospital prices in line with the national average or below by 2025 or be subject to significant financial penalty.
According to economists, if Indiana hospital prices were lowered to the national average, the average Hoosier family would save about $2,500 a year on medical expenses. This is critical for Hoosier families who face a choice between visiting their doctor when sick and putting food on the table!
Thank you so much for your consideration of House Bill 1004!
