Lawmakers Staggering Wage Increase Would Raise Inflation for All of Us

Raising the minimum wage will increase inflation - it's simple economics. When businesses have to pay more to keep employees, their prices have to go up. This means an employee's wages won't be enough to keep up with rising prices...and on it goes.

Almost 40% of small businesses across New Mexico had to permanently close because of the governor’s shutdown order, and the ones still open struggle to stay afloat due to the soaring prices of energy and food. The bottom line is that a minimum wage increase sounds great for the workers - until they get laid off because the business cannot afford to keep them on.

HB25 would make New Mexico’s minimum wage $16.00 per hour for every county in the state starting in 2024 - higher than any other state in the country.

Santa Fe politicians are pushing a radical new mandate that could regulate even more people out of business and drive costs up. Tell New Mexico Legislators to vote NO on HB25 and HB28 on the form provided!
