Support House Bill 1003
We humbly request your support for House Bill 1003, Health matters, authored by Representative Snow.
This bipartisan bill offers a tax credit incentive to businesses to adopt an ICHRA (Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement).
Currently, Indiana has the 7th highest hospital prices in the nation! ICHRAs will create more competition among insurance companies, which will lead to lower costs.
ICHRA plans are good for Hoosier employees and employers because:
* ICHRA helps more employers to offer health coverage that currently are not, thereby getting more Hoosier health coverage.
* ICHRA gives employees more freedom to choose insurance plans that work for them vs limited options from employers.
* ICHRA allows employees to work wherever they want.
* ICHRA allows part-time employees to receive coverage.
* ICHRA saves employers money, which they can use for higher salaries.
* ICHRA plans can take their coverage with them if they leave one employer.
* ICHRAs can give employees more benefits than other HRAs.
Hoosier small businesses are counting on Indiana lawmakers to reduce outrageous non-profit hospital prices and bring them in line with the national average or below by 2025. I believe House Bill 1003 is a critically important step in reaching this goal.
