House Bill 101 will ban the sale of new semiautomatic rifles in the state of New Mexico. Further, if it becomes law, you would have to register your semiautomatic rifles with the state and could only possess them on private property.
The bill would also ban the sale of centerfire .50 caliber rifles and .50 caliber ammunition. You would not be able to sell any registered firearm either. Any violation of the law would result in felony charges for the gun owner.
