Stop SB 221
Earlier this week, Georgia Senators on the Elections Committee passed SB221, an omnibus anti-voter bill, with limited public comment. The Republican Secretary of State's office said the bill violates federal law.
SB221 is another dangerous attempt to attack Georgia voters, and we must act to keep it from passing.
SB221 undermines democracy while failing Georgia voters and elections workers by:
- Undermining the National Voter Registration Act.
- Expanding the ability for individuals to challenge voters’ eligibility.
- Banning the use of drop boxes in the state of Georgia which disenfranchises many citizens, including essential workers and disabled persons.
- Imposing multiple unfunded mandates on county elections offices.
- Discriminating against unhoused voters.
SB 221 is a shocking attempt to legislate election intimidation and mass voter disenfranchisement and will especially suppress the vote of minority and disabled citizens. Tell Georgia legislators to vote NO on this bill.
