Restore the right to buy long guns to those 18-20 years old!
A new bill has been introduced into the Florida House that seeks to return the ability to purchase long guns back to those between the ages of 18 and 20.
HB 1543, introduced by Rep. Bobby Payne, R-Palatka, and Rep. Tyler Sirois, R-Merritt Island, would allow those 18 and older to purchase long guns, overturing the law passed in 2018 after the shooting that took place at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
This 2018 bill, capitalizing on the tragedy, stripped the young adults in Florida of their right to purchase a long gun. A major win for the tyrants and their disarmament regime, and a huge loss to the young adults.
This bill has only been in place for a few years, but that time has resulted in an entire generation of people having to wait three additional years to exercise their rights legally and without repercussions from the state.
