The Final Budget is Around the Corner! Ensure Libraries Receive an Increase in Aid.

With the Assembly and Senate one-house budget proposals released, we now enter the home stretch of New York's budget season! As such, NYLA is asking our #LibraryAdvocates across the state to tell their legislators that libraries need increased funding in the final budget. Take ACTION today!

Fortunately, both the Senate and the Assembly have proposed increases for library funding for FY2024. However, neither have outlined levels of funding that address the immense financial needs that the members of our library community face.

To ensure that New York's libraries receive a historic increase in funding, we need your help. Please reach out to your elected officials using the below form to request NYLA's Budget Initiatives. If possible, you are encouraged to modify the form to include specific example of how increased funding will benefit/be utilized in your system or library.
