Just Days Left to Act

Now that the U.S. House of Representatives has a Speaker at the dais, it has finally resumed its work on funding the federal government having passed 5 of the 12 spending bills.  Next legislators plan to turn their attention to the Transportation-Housing and Urban Development and related agencies funding bill which includes substantial cuts to U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) and Self-Help Homeownership Opportunity Program (SHOP).

The U.S. Senate aims to pass a legislative package which will fund the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) rural housing programs and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). There are just weeks left to pass all 12 bills to avoid a shut down. Congress has until November 17 to pass the FY24 budget including federal programs that support Latino and low-income communities.

Email your members of Congress today and urge them to ensure that the programs vital for Latino and low-income communities are robustly funded in FY24 appropriations bills. Your action has never been more needed.
