This bill is at the heart of parents' rights to raise and care for their children free from outside influences of those who prefer to impose their views of gender and sexual orientation. The bill, formerly HB 463 but subsequently renumbered to HB 648, was passed out of House on May 16 and sent to the Senate with a vote of 71 yeas, 24 nays. On May 18, it was read a second time in the Senate and referred to the Senate Committee on Health and Welfare.
