Ask Your Representative to Support the ARC Act & Join the PAD Caucus

In 2019, the Congressional Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) Caucus was established to educate Congress and communities about PAD while supporting legislative activities to improve PAD research, education, and treatment, with the goal of preventing complications, including non-traumatic amputations, due to PAD.

Among the priorities of the Caucus is the Amputation Reduction and Compassion (ARC) Act. which would require coverage of PAD screening for high-risk Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries without cost sharing.

Increasing the number of Caucus members is an important way to build support among lawmakers to advance the ARC Act and other policy solutions to address disparities in PAD treatment among minority populations.

Check here to see if your Representative is already a member of the Caucus.

If your Representative is not already a member of the Congressional PAD Caucus, take a moment to ask him or her to join and to commit to addressing the number of complications suffered by PAD patients, including limb amputations, heart attack and stroke.

The Association of Black Cardiologists has made it easy for you to email your Representative with just a few clicks. Make sure you personalize your request by sharing your professional or personal experience with PAD, including the importance of screening and education.
