School choice allows families to choose a school in which their child can thrive, rather than being forced into an educational environment that simply leaves their child just getting by.
It is always best for a family to choose where their child receives their education because it is the family that knows their child best. So many details go into choosing a school like curriculum, faith, location, and transparency to name a few. But often, families are left unable to truly choose the school that fits best because they can’t afford the tuition that accompanies the school of their choice.
HB105, the Education Scholarship Tax Credit bill will help families overcome obstacles in the path to private education. The bill will allow for the creation of “school tuition organizations.” These organizations will exist to award educational scholarships to certain low-income students to attend private schools.
The bill also creates the “educational scholarship income tax credit” and the “educational scholarship corporate income tax credit” for those individuals and businesses who choose to donate to these school tuition organizations. School choice, at your fingertips.
