Protect Funding that Supports Prevention
The House Appropriations Committee released details of their proposed plan for FY25 funding for Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, and Related Agencies (LHHS). The proposed funding bill includes $198.4 billion, a cut of $24.6 billion, or 11%, below the fiscal year 2024 level.
Unfortunately, this proposal eliminates investments in primary prevention resources and research that we know strengthens families. The proposed budget eliminates federal investments in the Centers for Disease Control National Center for Injury Prevention and Control that support the prevention of child sexual abuse and adverse childhood experiences.
Reaching out to our Members of Congress is a powerful tool to raise our collective voice. We need Members to hear from you, their constituents, and to NOT move this proposal forward!
