Keep Abortion Safe and Legal in NM

We are close to the end of the 2019 Legislative Session, and we need you more than ever to help pass House Bill 51.

With Roe v. Wade at risk of being overturned, we must repeal our unconstitutional law that criminalizes abortion. If our legislators don't repeal this and Roe is overturned, abortion could become a crime and doctors would be charged for providing care for women and families.

Right now, your legislator is considering House Bill 51 that will repeal this outdated law that criminalizes abortion. You can tell them to vote for House Bill 51 to protect doctors and the families they serve because healthcare is not a crime.

HB 51:

  • Repeals an old law that makes abortion a crime.
  • Keeps health care providers from facing jail time for providing legal, safe, and regulated health care.
  • Keeps women from facing injury, death, or criminal charges.
  • Affirms health care is not a crime.

We know it can be difficult to get up to the Roundhouse to participate in this important work, but it's important that as many New Mexicans as possible make their voices heard.

This is a matter of when, not if, Roe will be overturned or gutted in the next year. We can’t put our families or providers at risk for criminal investigation or prosecution for a single day.

Will you join us?
