WHY THIS ACTION IS IMPORTANT:
Governor Cuomo has committed to shutting down Unit 2 of the Indian Point nuclear plant in April of 2020, and Unit 3 in April of 2021, eliminating a massive source of clean power for the state of New York and a multi-billion dollar economic engine for the region and the country.
Two out of three planned fracked gas plants have been built to replace it, and threaten to accelerate climate change and damage New York air quality.
