Question 1: How has the war on cannabis — and on cannabis consumers — impacted you?

Members of the cannabis community know what it means to be threatened by unjust laws and unfair treatment. The war on drugs — in fact, the war on cannabis consumers — has gone on far too long and impacted generations of Americans.

The war on drugs has ravaged our communities and criminalized our citizens. And more than any other drug, cannabis has been weaponized by our government. For generations, marijuana laws have been used as a way to sidestep search warrants, target certain individuals, take our property, intrude into our lives, limit our potential, harass, intimidate, and incarcerate.

If you have been spied on, searched, mocked, arrested, thrown into the criminal justice system, told to surrender money and property, or left to apologize for possession convictions on your record, we want to hear your story. If you were ever outed at work, or at school, or told you can’t consume even in your own home, we want to hear your story. If you are a member of the African American or Latinx communities or another minority group that receives this treatment far greater than any other, we want to hear your story.
