County of Los Angeles to Interfere with the Hiring Practices of Business
At their March 31st board meeting, Los Angeles County Supervisors Janice Hahn and Hilda Solis requested a report back from county officials on the potential of a countywide "right of recall," "worker retention," and paid sick leave policies. Read the motion by clicking here.
Businesses are doing their best to survive, provide for their workers and not fold under the current economic pressures. The County should be HELPING businesses to maintain their current workforce and survive this challenging time - NOT dictate their hiring practices and add financial burdens they may not be able to pay.
The LA County Board of Supervisors will be reviewing the recall, retention and paid sick leave report back TOMORROW at their board meeting. It's important that the business community mobilize and make their voices heard during this crucial time.
