The FDA and USDA are FAILING us!
The FDA recently decided to allow GMO companies to self-determine if their products need to be regulated, and they won't regulate CRISPR or gene edited GMOs at all!
The USDA has just announced that food companies can, during this COVID situation, substitute ingredients without updating the labels! Ingredients less than 2% of total food weight or "similar" such as sunflower oil and canola oil, could be switched!
These decisions put the health and safety of American citizens at risk during a time when we need more intergrity and safety, not less! The lack of regulation could, and likely will, especially during times of job loss and lack of insurance, cause unecessary allergic reactions and possibly even deaths, particularly in our children. Trade partners could also cancel orders due to lack of safety, putting our economy in further jeopardy.
We urge you to take action today and share this call to action widely. Our food producers are our last hope for restoring safety and integrity in our food supply. Please speak up and let them know they need to make a public statement about our requests.
