Tell your Senator and Representative to VOTE YES on HB 614

UPDATE Sept. 23, 2020: With the help of our supporters, HB 614 has passed the House and Senate and will go to the Governor to sign into law. No further action is required at this time.

Because of Ohio's "shutdown," there are now long delays at many Sheriff offices. It's difficult for many people to get appointments to apply for or renew a Concealed Handgun License (CHL). Some Sheriffs have no appointments until well into 2021.

The state caused this problem, so the state should fix it. The 90-day extension passed in March has already expired for many law-abiding license holders.

HB 614 includes a simple amendment to extend CHL expiration dates until June 30, 2021 AND allows citizens to apply for or renew licenses at any sheriff office in the state. Currently, people are restricted to their home county or an adjacent county.

Of course, we continue to push for Constitutional Carry, which would fix this and many other problems permanently. However, extending the license expiration date is a quick and easy short-term solution to aid law-abiding gun owners immediately in their time of need.

Send an email, make a phone call, or both, to your Senator and Repesentative immediately. Tell them to VOTE YES to pass HB 614.
