Support SB 1063: Bringing Personal Financial Literacy to Texas Public High Schools!

Personal financial literacy is the foundation for a stable financial future. It is important because it provides us with the knowledge and skills we need to manage money effectively. Without it, our financial decisions and the actions we take—or don't take—lack a solid foundation for success.

According to the Financial Literacy Coalition of Central Texas, 48% of people do not have emergency funds to get by in case of unexpected circumstances, 21% of individuals reported that over the past year, their household spent more than their income, and 29% of Texans in neighborhoods of color have medical debt that has been sent to collections.

As the workforce gets younger, tech-savier, and more in debt in a world where cost of living is steadily increasing, it is vital that we set up future generations with the knowledge to establish their financial future. Help us bring personal financial literacy to the Texas public high school curriculum!
