Mississippi Smoking Ban and Tax Increase
Mississippi Representative Bryant Clark has introduced H.B. 245, creating the Mississippi Smoke Free Act, that would ban smoking in virtually any place of employment, and even in private clubs and selected outdoor venues, as well. While this is an annual ritual, we have to send a message that H.B. 245 is a direct threat to property rights, and the enjoyment of perfectly legal products, in your place of choice. The legislature is also considering a tobacco tax increase. Now is not the time to raise taxes of any kind, given the economic affects of the national pandemic.
