Help low-income patients and pass important reforms to Rhode Island's medical cannabis program

While lawmakers consider legislation to legalize and tax marijuana for adult use, it is crucial that we not forget the thousands of registered medical marijuana patients who need safe, affordable access to cannabis for health-related reasons.

Rep. Scott Slater has introduced H 5453, which would enact several important reforms to the state's medical marijuana program to help patients. This bill would create a hardship program to help low-income patients; repeal the "plant tag" program for patients who cultivate their own medicine; and eliminate excessive medical cannabis fees and taxes.
