Help Push Constitutional Carry Through the Wisconsin State Legislature!

Sponsored by State Senator Mary Felzkowski (R-12), Senate Bill 619 is a welcomed piece of legislation in Wisconsin. Senate Bill 619, also referred to as Wisconsin's constitutional carry bill, aims to give rights back to the people. Any expansion of rights is a step in the right direction, especially given the amount of legislation crafted to minimize individual rights of late.

This bill, if passed, would guarantee Wisconsinites the ability to exercise their constitutional right to carry a gun under the rights already afforded to them by the 2nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.  Essentially it eliminates the general prohibition against going armed with a concealed weapon in Wisconsin without regard to whether the individual has such a license or card. But that's not it! The bill also eliminates the general prohibition against carrying a firearm in certain buildings, such as a police station, a house of correction, or a secure mental health facility, but allows the appropriate entity to post the buildings against carrying a firearm.  Additionally, WI Senate Bill 619 eliminates the prohibitions against carrying a firearm, bow, or crossbow in a wildlife refuge and eliminates the prohibitions against carrying a firearm, bow, or crossbow while engaging in certain activities, such as operating an all-terrain vehicle.

To tell your state legislator to get behind this bill, please use FPC's convenient constituent outreach tool located on this page.  Simply fill in your information and you will be provided a prewritten email to review, edit and personalize prior to sending it off to your elected officials.  A version of this bill is being sponsored by State Rep. Robert Brooks (R-60) in the State Assembly as well, so your email will go to both your state representative and state senator.  We understand that the current Governor may be opposed to this legislation because embracing fundamental rights is hard for some people, but if we can mobilize and get this through the state legislature, we can mount a pressure campaign so that the governor cannot ignore his constituents! They will hear from us! Thanks in advance for taking action on this bill and for your continued support of FPC!
