Vote No to H.R. 550

On November 30th, congressional bill H.R.550 (Immunization Infrastructure Modernization Act of 2021) passed the U.S. House with a vote of 294-130. All House Democrats and 80 House Republicans voted yes for H.R. 550, including the 4 Republican co-sponsors.

“(f) Definition.—In this section, the term ‘immunization information system’ means a confidential, population-based, computerized database that records immunization doses administered by any health care provider to persons within the geographic area covered by that database.

This bill:

  • Will award over $400 million in government funding to health departments and agencies on a federal, state, local, tribal and territorial level to implement immunization information systems used by health care providers.
  • Will improve the process by which agencies share immunization records
  • Will provide public health officers access to important immunization information per their jurisdiction and other jurisdictions
  • Will improve health care providers capabilities in assessing population gaps, gaps in immunization, and more.

We are #justasking:

  • What standards will HHS place on governmental agencies to qualify or maintain immunization information systems?
  • Will the data collected be used against the American people to enforce stricter mandates and authoritarian laws?
  • What kind of information exactly will the immunization information systems be tracking and collecting?
  • Will it track the information of individuals who apply for a medical, religious or personal belief exemption?
  • What are the current issues does this immunization information system address that we need $400 million in government funding to deal with it?
  • Who are the public-private parternships HHS will be consulting on standards?

Contact Your Representatives with these questions and write to them your concerns. Urge them to Vote NO Against HR 550.
