Let's rebuild with the help of our lawmakers! Fill out this form to find your representatives and contact them about supporting the arts sector.

On behalf of the entire arts sector we urge the Maryland General Assembly to help the ongoing recovery of the arts sector and provide recovery and relief funds to help lessen the devastating impact that COVID 19 has had on our industry.

A study conducted by Maryland Citizens for the Arts (MCA) found that the total economic loss of the Maryland arts sector from March 2020 through the summer of 2021 was over $135 million. Additionally, the study found that over 36,000 jobs were lost, and tourism and audience spending dropped by almost $85 million.

Many arts organizations have exhausted emergency funds, and artists are struggling to make ends meet. With these challenges in mind, we respectfully ask that the MGA consider a $50 million investment and rescue fund to aid in the recovery of our sector. We urge the MGA to provide meaningful relief and recovery investments to support our once vibrant sector thrive again. We know the arts play a vital role in the health and recovery of all communities, and the MGA must provide support to help enable the sector to carry out its essential community-driven work.
