Fight Back Against Latest Attempt to Restrict Open Carry Rights in Washington State!

Shocking no one, gun control proponents in the Washington state legislature are back at it this legislative session.  State Senator Patty Kuderer (D-48) has introduced Senate Bill 5568 in an attempt to further restrict open carry rights in the Evergreen State.  SB 5568 would undermine firearms preemption allowing local governments to enact harsher restrictions than the state's firearms law.  Senator Kuderer explains SB 5568 “is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, or safety, or support of the state government and its existing public institutions.”  Obviously, this pearl-clutcher doesn't understand or appreciate the fundamental rights of her fellow Washingtonians as she seeks to limit both First and Second Amendment rights.

As an update, Senate Bill 5568 was passed through the Senate Law and Justice Committee on Thursday, January 27th by a 5-4 vote.  It now awaits action in the Senate Rules Committee.
