Pass the Stand-Your-Ground-Expansion Act Out Of Committee!

Missouri’s Stand-Your-Ground law has holes in it. That’s how Kim Gardner was able to attack Mark and Patricia McCloskey after they defended themselves from a violent mob!

Until we fix these issues, every law-abiding gun owner in Missouri could face these same politically motivated attacks after they are forced to defend themselves against a violent criminal.

State Senator Eric Burlison and Representative Jered Taylor have filed S.B. 666 and H.B. 2118 to provide criminal immunity to gun owners who use reasonable force in defending themselves, which is badly needed! More, this new legislation would offer a pre-trial hearing so you can assert your immunity BEFORE you go to court, not only during an appeal following a conviction.

The legislation also covers ‘good faith’ shootings and modifies Missouri’s assault statutes to make it clear that displaying a firearm to stop a violent criminal is not a criminal action!

Once this bill is passed into law, Missouri will join DOZENS of other states who already have these laws on the books, and we won’t have to worry about being McCloskey’d ever again! But moderates in the legislature don’t want to pass this bill and are working behind the scenes to kill it.

So please send your PRE-WRITTEN EMAIL to the Senate Transportation, Infrastructure and Public Safety committee, using our automated system and insist that they pass this legislation out of committee now!

Once you’ve done that, take the next step and become a member of the Missouri Firearms Coalition so that we can keep fighting for you in Jefferson City and in D.C.! You can get involved at www.JOINMOFC.com!
