Trans Students Deserve the Same Athletic Opportunities as Other Students - Take Action Now

Your help is urgently needed to protect the rights of transgender young people in Pennsylvania! State legislators have introduced S.B. 1191, a bill that would expressly designate sport activities in all public schools  to be male, female or coed. This bill is not about protecting young people - it it weaponizing an attack against trans children and youth for political points. Transgender kids want to play sports for the same reasons all athletes do: to make friends, to build confidence and leadership skills, to be physically active, and to be a part of a team. Trans youth are as equally deserving of these opportunities as their cisgender peers. They do not deserve to be routinely and pointlessly scapegoated by adult politicians during election season.

The Trevor Project reports that 85% of transgender youth say that recent debates around anti-trans bills have negatively impacted their mental health, and 52% of trans youth have seriously considered suicide in the past year — with 20% making a suicide attempt in the past year. According to a poll by the Public Religion Research Institute published this year, 80% of Pennsylvanians support LGBT nondiscrimination protections.

Take a second today to stop the cruel attacks on transgender youth!
