Tell Governor Newsom to Stop the Sale of Stolen Products

Retail theft has skyrocketed in California's major metropolitan areas, with some cities and counties seeing 700% increases compared to pre-pandemic levels. Criminals sell a majority of stolen goods online, through high-value, third-party marketplaces (Facebook, Craigslist, eBay). These platforms have given rise to a mainstream black market for stolen retail products.

While these platforms are taking steps to act, we must tell Governor Newsom to take action and sign SB 301, which will make these online marketplaces transparent, connecting consumers and verified businesses, and rooting out bad actors.

California can no longer allow organized crime to hide behind electronic identieies, and peddle stolen goods.
