Support House Bill 1004!

I humbly request your support for lowering Indiana’s high non-profit hospital prices to the national average or below by voting “YES” on House Bill 1004.

A recent Employers’ Forum of Indiana analysis showed that facility prices for 43 of Indiana’s non-profit, non-critical access hospitals, was 40% above the national average in 2020 (365% vs 260% of Medicare). If facility prices were brought to the national average for the Big Five non-profit systems (Ascension, IU Health, Community, Franciscan, Parkview) this would have resulted in savings of $1.6 billion for Indiana working families and employers in 2020.

According to economists, if all Indiana non-profit hospital prices were lowered to the national average, the average Hoosier family would save $2,500 a year. This is critical for Hoosier families who face a choice between visiting their doctor when sick and putting food on the table!

Thank you so much for your consideration.
