Pharmacy and Medically Underserved Areas Enhancement Act
On Tuesday, May 9th, 2023, federal provider status legislation, the Pharmacy and Medically Underserved Areas Enhancement Act (S. 1491) was introduced in the U.S. Senate.
This bill will recognize pharmacists as health care providers for Medicare patients, granting pharmacists “provider status” and mandating pharmacists are fairly compensated for their valuable patient care services.
