Tell your LAUSD Board Member to vote NO on the Goldberg/Rivas Resolution
LAUSD Board members Jackie Goldberg and Rocio Rivas want to ban thousands of charter public school students from LAUSD school campuses. Ms. Rivas even said that charter schools that share space are "a cancer that comes in and then metastasizes and spreads." They believe that charter students and District students cannot learn together on the same campus.
Their rhetoric is offensive, divisive and another attack on thousands of parents that choose a charter public school education for their child. While this resolution seeks to stop students from sharing LAUSD campus space, the Board and District are taking other steps to make it harder for charter public school educators to find independent sites. This is another attempt to limit public education options and keep the status quo.
The LAUSD Board will soon vote on the Goldberg/Rivas Resolution. Tell your school board member and Superintendent that you believe parents should have more public school choices, charter public school students are not a cancer, and to vote No on the Golberg/Rivas Resolution today.
