Tell the City Council to support the Mayor’s Veto of Intro. 549

As violence skyrockets in NYC's jails, public advocate Jumaane Williams and 38 NYC council members have passed legislation to prevent correction officers from separating violent offenders from the general population. Mayor Eric Adams has vetoed the bill, but many members of the City Council are interested in voting to override the Mayor's veto, which will jeopardize the lives of everyone in our jails.

We must stand up and demand the city council support the Mayor's veto to keep our jails safe for everyone.

Over the past three years, there have been…

-Over 24,000 inmate fights

-Over 6,500 inmate assaults on Correction Officers

-Over 50 Sexual Assaults Against Female Correction Officers
